DJ YRS Jerzy’s Wednesday Throwback: The Candy Store – “Memories”

Think back to the first Wednesday Throwback and the reason everybody decided to do this. In order to go forward, it’s always important to look back and not just at the famous legends. Plenty of classic records came from people who went on to work outside of music, including the group, The Candy Store.

Back in 1997, they cut a record that went on to have a lot of fan fare. Right before the era of CDs, they dropped their “Memories” single and it became a minor single for a period of time in 1997. After having a close friend send the track over, this HAD to be the Wednesday Throwback.

Everybody expecting a music video, here is the apology. Not every old school group had a music video and this includes The Candy Store. But, their “Memories” track featuring Lifty and Me’Nage was still a dope track and it encompassed everything that was hip hop in the mid-to-late-1990s, so everybody take a listen.
