Eighteen years ago, John Legend was introduced to the world. During this time, Kanye West was actually taking over the world. In the summer of 2004, Kanye West appeared on Slum Village’s “Selfish,” and a then-unknown John Legend sang background vocals. When the fall came, John Legend released his solo debut, and he would go onto become one of the most sought after vocalists in music.

John Legend kept a low profile, until last year. Due to Kanye West’s “Drink Champs” appearance, John Legend returned to the headlines. On “Drink Champs,” Kanye West aired out John Legend, along with the other G.O.O.D. Music artists. Kanye went as far as mocking John Legend’s singing, blasting him for distancing himself from West during the 2020 election.

For some time, John Legend has no longer been a part of the G.O.O.D. Music roster. A few days ago, John Legend returned with the new single, “Tomorrow.” This record, John Legend shares with Nas and Florian Picasso. If the last name sounds familiar, Florian is the great-grandson of Pablo Picasso, the iconic Spanish artist.
