Lakeyah remixes J-Kwon’s Tipsy on new single In Da Club

This new generation of female rappers continues to dominate the genre. A Midwest favorite Lakeyah releases a new single inspired by a classic hit. Lakeyah releases her new single “In Da Club,” a remix to J-Kwon’s 2004 song “Tipsy.” Adding her own flare and spin to the classic single, Lakeyah introduces the iconic beat to a new generation. The performance single is apart of the PixelRePresents series, in partnership with Mass Appeal, Sony Entertainment and Google Pixel. In an interview with Google Pixel, Lakeyah spoke about challenging herself with the iconic beat.

Lakeyah continues to build an incredible brand for herself throughout music and fashion. After signing with Quality Control music in 2020, she released her first single “BigFlexHer,” featuring 42Dugg. Shortly after she followed up with her debut album Times Up, which included the leading single “Female Goat,” featuring The City Girls. Making a name for herself throughout music, she landed a brand ambassadorship with Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage X Fenty in 2021.

As for 2023, Lakeyah is already working on more new music. Just last month she released her first single of the year “Want Em Hood,” sampling a Gorilla Zoe song. During her PixelRePresents interview, Lakeyah also elaborates on the love for her city of Milwauke, Wisconsin. Hip-hop artist J-Kwon, the originator of “Tipsy” approved this remix by commenting under Lakeyah’s Instagram post.
