Clearly, Meek Mill is a force in the game and he has placed Philadelphia’s hip hop scene back at the forefront of the game. This refocus on Philadelphia hip hop has helped to shed light on the many other talented Philly emcees. Gillie Da Kid is one of the many Philadelphia rappers who have been making moves for years.
Ever since Meek Mill burst into the mainstream, Gillie Da Kid has been a strong supporter and he shouted Rick Ross out for his efforts. Recently, there have been rumors of Meek Mill beefing with Gillie Da Kid. Gillie Da Kid responded with his Twitter rant and then dropped “King Me.”
Hip Hop Vibe talked to Gillie Da Kid and he cleared up any rumors of him dissing Meek Mill, saying even Meek called him the “king of Philly.” In spite of this, it looks like lines have been crossed. Meek Mill recently appeared on his cousin, Omelly’s, new single, “Panamera!” and he has some questionable lines possibly aimed at Gillie.
