Micky Munday is among the next generation Los Angeles artists getting it in. There is a lot of LA culture being adapted into the current pop culture. The popular phrase, “bye Felicia,” actually originated from Ice Cube’s Friday and Mickey Munday is the latest rapper to use it as a song title.

Distributed on Soundcloud a month ago but not officially released, L.A.’s rising rap starMicky Munday delivers a record that sets him back on the scene titled “Bye Felicia” featuring fellow California artists Y2 andIAMxLOVE. The to hot to overlook record, is produced by award-winning producer Knotch, and is a preview of what fans can expect from Micky Munday on his forthcoming project.

“Bye Felicia” is an ode to how Micky’s career has taken off since he started taking it seriously at age 17. In true Friday nature,Micky and fellow LA rhymester/songwriter Y2 decided to tell the rest of the rap game, “Bye Felicia.” San Diego native IAMxLOVE adds a unique touch to the song, creating a melting pot of Hip-Hop sound.

“We were playing around with creating the hook and were inspired by the Friday movie theme,” notes Micky Munday. “We wanted to make the sound a collaborative mesh of what’s going on today. It was a dope way for all of three of us to work together.”

Micky Munday is currently in the studio working on his upcoming new mixtape dubbed W.E.A.L.T.H. (Wanting Everything And Leaving This Hell) a follow up to his last project “Back to Work” hosted by DJ Don Cannon. The L.A. native plans to drop a video for “Bye Felicia” very soon and can expect to drop a second single later in the year. Outside of the studio, the multi-talentedMicky will also star in the Amazon Prime indie film Borderline, playing the role of a Jamaican drug dealer.
