Stream: AZ – “Doe or Die 2” (Deluxe Edition)

AZ releases Doe or Die 2 deluxe edition
In 1995, AZ released Doe or Die, his debut album, to much fanfare. The album was considered a classic, but AZ didn’t have the same commercial success as the likes of Nas or Jay-Z. AZ debuted during the same frame of time as those guys. While AZ didn’t have commercial success, he was widely regarded as one of the game’s best lyricists.
Fifteen years after AZ released his debut album, he made a major announcement. In 2010, AZ announced he was working on Doe or Die 2, and it would soon be released. Months after the announcement, AZ said he may retire after releasing the album. Soon, AZ began constantly delaying Doe or Die 2. AZ spoke with DJ Envy, in 2013, where he again discussed the possibility of retiring, after this album’s release.
In September 2021, AZ finally released Doe or Die 2, eleven years after the announcement came. The album’s released marked his first album in twelve years. AZ has since returned with the deluxe edition of the album. On the deluxe, AZ has contributions from Lil Wayne, Idris Elba, Rick Ross, Conway the Machine, Dave East, T-Pain, Jaheim, Alchemist, Pete Rock, Bink, Buckwild, Kaygee, Heatmakerz, Rockwilder, and Baby Paul.
