In terms of popularity, NBA Youngboy is definitely top five, when it comes to the hottest rappers in the game. Since 2015, he has consistently dropped new music, and he has been a mainstay on the radio, over the past four years. Consistency is something NBA Youngboy has never had a problem with. When he was trying to get in the door, he worked hard, and now that he’s in, he’s not deviating from what worked.
NBA Youngboy outworked 90% of the rap game, in 2021, as he released something new almost every day. What was so impressive about it is how NBA Youngboy spent most of the year behind bars. Borrowing from Gucci Mane’s formula, he kept music out, except Youngboy was putting something out every day. Before the day was over, his projects would normally have around 1 million views in that first day.
This year, NBA Youngboy is a free man, and he wasted no time getting a 2022 project out. He has returned with his new mixtape, Colors, which dropped this morning. This project comes, as NBA Youngboy has ruffled some feathers. He has a little back-and-forth going on with both Lil Durk and NLE Choppa. But, as he presses through, he’s dropped this mixtape, and within 24 hours, he already has a video with over 1 million views.
