A Detroit native, TOB Duke is one of what seems like an endless amount of rappers blowing up. In the case of TOB Duke, he has managed to get a major label deal out of the situation.
TOB Duke signed with LISTEN TO THE KIDS, which is partnered with Geffen Records. Of all the Detroit rappers coming up, TOB Duke is the most notable one under the Interscope umbrella. As a result, TOB Duke has the potential to become a major star. After all, before TOB Duke, this machine pushed out such labels as Aftermath, Shady, and G-Unit, which dominated a whole decade.
TOB Duke is representing a new era. This era has seen Detroit take over, for sure, but the whole Midwest is getting looks, during his new time period. For years, hip hop’s mainstream dominance has floated between New York and the East Coast, Atlanta and the South, and Los Angeles and the West Coast.
