Tony Yayo talks Nelson Mandela, Troy Ave, “El Chapo 3,” current hip hop, and more with DJ Whoo Kid [AUDIO]

For years, Tony Yayo has held G-Unit down, both the record label and the group. In recent years, it’s looked like there is no more G-Unit. 50 Cent has apparently moved on with his life and his career and Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks have been relegated back to being mixtape stars.

A decade ago, the outlook was might brighter for the camp, despite Tony Yayo serving time in prison. Upon his release, Tony Yayo was immediately one of the most-anticipated rappers in the game. In spite of all, Tony Yayo managed to put out a platinum selling album under the umbrella.

DJ Whoo Kid recently invited Tony Yayo to his Shade 45 show, where they spoke on some pressing topics. They spoke on Nelson Mandela, who died last week, and also about rising star, Troy Ave. Tony Yayo went on to speak on El Chapo 3 and his take on the current hip hop landscape.
