Beauty, like fine art, is something that cannot be clearly judged because it is all in the eyes of the beholder. Until recently, the world was programmed to believe big was bad and small was good. Now, the world is beginning to realize that the only thing that matters is health and how a person carries themselves is important.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana native, Beau2ful Girl, is a walking inspiration and she is beautiful, as is her story. On November 1, 2012, Beau2ful Girl was faced with a decision from her doctor, she had the option to live or the option to die. Beau2ful Girl chose to live and she changed her life and began losing weight, weighing 298 pounds at 5’2 on that date.

Almost exactly one year later, Beau2ful Girl has shed over 100 pounds and now weighs in at 190 pounds. Now that she is healthier, Beau2ful Girl is living out her lifelong dream, which is to become a model. Today, Beau2ful Girl decided to tell her story Hip Hop Vibe in the latest feature for Hottie of the Week.

How did you cope with your weight and your ambitions to model? I’ve always had to cope with my weight in some way. I’ve always been a very thick woman. I use to suffer from not being able to walk long distances, short of breath, sleeping problems, borderline diabetic and much more.

Coping wasn’t easy, but I tried to live life with those problems, only to avoid having to put in the necessary work. I’ve tried so many fad diets and diet pills to try and lose weight in the past. The weight would come off and come back on very quickly. Once I stopped taking medication, I realized once I finally started listening to my doctor, that I had been doing it all wrong.

I needed to change my lifestyle, not just my eating habits. So, once I received the right guidance and put it into place. It was much easier to cope and I am driven to keep the weight off and remain healthy.

Can you tell us more about what led to your phenomenal weight loss? Certainly, the most important thing that led to my weight loss was, I wanted to be healthy and live for myself and my family. I didn’t want to continue to live in such a way it would limit the things and activities that I would be able to do with my children or myself. I knew I had to make a change. My doctor told me I have a choice to live or die, so I chose to live!

On November 1st 2012 I immediately started making very drastic changes in my way of living. As of now, I think it was the best decision I could have made. I feel amazing, and it’s just a bonus to inspire so many others to do the same. Which gave me motivation to keep it up. I feel like I may have helped someone to save their life. That feeling alone is worth all the blood, sweat, and tears.

What were the things you used to inspire yourself to lose weight? I’ve always had a dream to reach my high school weight of 175 pounds. I thought that goal was impossible. So, I took a good look at myself at 298 pounds and said “I can do this.” I started out with small goals of losing between twenty and thirty pounds and as the weight started falling off, I was more inspired than ever to reach that goal. I started this lifestyle change on November 1st, 2012 and sometimes its hard to believe how much I’ve accomplished in this time. I currently weigh 190 and still working towards my goal. When others come in contact with me again after some time, they are immediately inspired, which keeps me inspired.

Now that you have jumped into the modeling career, is it at all what you expected? Yes, I really didn’t know what to expect. This has always been a dream of mine, but I never thought it was possible, because I was a 5’2 female that was overweight. Once I started putting my story of success out there, it was amazing to see the amount of support I had, and those willing to help. I must say I love the modeling scene. I really enjoy it, and it brings me out of my comfort zone. I’m so excited for any further opportunities there are to come.

Do you feel as if you will stick out more than other models because of what you overcame? In some way I believe so, because anyone that has battled weight loss issues all of their life, knows about the struggle just to get started, so I’m sure it will stick out to inspire others that they can do it. But, on the other hand, when I use to think model. I use to think I wasn’t model material because of my size, based on the photos I would see of models in magazines and on television. So, I’m sure some may look at it the same way and may not feel I’m model material. And that is more than okay. I will just continue to hold my head high and work towards my goal as a curvy model.

What you have endured is proof a person can do anything, so what is your reaction to the “why me?” complainers? I actually get that a lot from people, but my answer is “Why Not You????” I encourage others to use these trials as a testimony as it will definitely help someone else. The key is to work toward your goals instead of looking at your situation in a negative way and doing nothing about it. I also can ensure anyone, that it is not easy, it is in fact very hard, but also very possible. If you want it bad enough, you will do all that you can to get it. Each person and each situation will be different but the end result can be the same. It depends on YOU!!!!!

When will the world begin to see more of you? I’m eager to get my face out there for the world to see. I’m looking at each opportunity as a chance to market myself and maybe one day, I will be approached with the right opportunity to make this dream a reality. So, my hope and dream is that it will be very soon.

Do you plan on building a brand for yourself outside of modeling? Yes, I do. I plan to build a brand to encourage women and men. Regardless of your size, you are beautiful and we all can be sexy. I would also love to launch a clothing line for the curvaceous lady, so she can feel sexy in her skin and look absolutely amazing.

What is your next step in your career? My next step in my career is to become a well known curvy model and one day step into the world of acting as it is also a passion of mine.
