Hopefully, this one was worth the wait, more than likely, it was. Starting off as simply a singer, Nicollette soon branched out into modeling. Nicollette is currently having success as both a singer and a model. On the music front, Nicollette is making herself known and is a rising pop sensation.

Anyone who pursued their dream nonstop knows that it opens doors in various directions. This is especially the case when it comes to the entertainment business, as every attractive woman is courted to model. Nicollette decided to take up the modeling offer and she made it work.

Hip Hop Vibe had the opportunity to communicate with Nicollette. As the latest Hottie of the Week, Nicollette talked about her career as both a singer and a model. Since she works in the industry, both jobs work toward her goal. Nicollette took Hip Hop Vibe on a journey behind the scenes of her life in this interview.

Read the entire interview below:

Which came first for you, modeling or singing? Definitely singing! I’ve been singing and entertaining my friends and family since I was in diapers. When I was a child I’d put on plays and perform for any one that was willing to watch me.  The modeling came along through singing, performing, and networking with people.

Do you use modeling as a way to get your foot in the door? No, I wouldn’t say that. I love being in front of the camera and modeling, but that’s just one of perks that go along with being a pop singer. I have to shoot for editorials, magazines, and I’ve been fortunate enough to model for some great ad campaigns.  Recently, I teamed up with an amazing store called Mixology and shot an ad campaign promoting their clothes, which I LOVE!

How often are you on the road? Recently, I’ve been in the studio in Manhattan, working on my mixtape, so I’ve been local. But, I am beginning to start performing and will be beginning to travel the East Coast in the next coming months.

You are usually in New York City, Los Angeles, or Miami correct? Correct! Although I am from New York City, so that is where I spend the majority of my time lately. I have traveled to Miami a few times to record as well as for some photo shoots and I’m often back and forth between NY and LA. I love Los Angeles because there are tons of talented writers and producers out there and some great studios to record in. On top of those three cities, I’ve also recorded in Buckhead Atlanta, St. Louis, and Nashville which are all great cities too!

Which of these cities is your favorite and for what reason? I obviously love New York because it’s my home city, but I also really love Los Angeles. I love going out there because the weather is always beautiful, the people are easy going, and I get a really good vibe when I’m out there.  I also tend to get a lot of work done while I’m there.

Where do you go to record your music? It’s really all dependent on who I’m working with. I’ve been fortunate enough to work in some amazing studios all over the country. But, I’ve also recorded music right out of a booth that I have in my basement. As long as we can get good sound quality and I’m comfortable, I can record anywhere.

Do you have any hip hop collaborations? I have done some hip hop collaborations in the past, but not on any songs that I’ve released. However, I’d really love to do some collaborations in the future. I’d love to work with either Drake, Snoop Lion, Ludacris, or Nicki Minaj they are some of my favorites!

Have you appeared in many hip hop music videos? The only notable hip hop video that I appeared in was “Wine Up” by Kat Deluna featuring Elephant Man. It was such a fun day.

What is it like to shoot with so many famed photographers? It’s such a great feeling.  I love to express myself through photos, especially by showing off my image. I shot my music video for my single, “I’m Not an Angel,” with an awesome videographer named Maximo, who was easy to work with and extremely talented. I also have been fortunate enough to shoot with Steve Azzara, who is an amazing photographer that has shot more celebrities, models, and notable figures that I could list. Also, I shot with Josh Ryan when I was out in Malibu, California and that was such a fun day. There were so many outfits I got to choose from so I always love that.
