As life goes on, what a person will begin to learn is that the opinions of others don’t matter. The older a person gets, the less they care about such trivial matters. In the end, all that’s important is that a person loves themselves.
Anyone familiar with April Flores knows she loves herself and she has built a brand on it. Every time she performs, she brings a level of intensity that isn’t often seen. There is a reason she’s been able to outlast a many of performers.
April Flores is the latest person to speak on the #ThirstTrapThursdays segment. In this interview, April Flores discussed her journey to success in this industry. With the year of 2017 still being fairly new, April Flores also discussed the goals she has in mind to continue her success.

Can you give us a little synopsis of where you are from and what got you interested in the adult entertainment industry and how you got into it? I am from Los Angeles. I entered the adult industry in 2005. I thought it was going to be a one time thing and I mainly did it for the experience.
After that first project, I did another, and then another. Since I am an exhibitionist, I found that I really loved performing sex in front of the camera. I was driven to stay in the industry because it allowed me to represent a larger bodied person owning her sexuality. Media rarely shows larger women (especially back then) being sexually free and owning it. I wanted to inspire other fat women to feel beautiful and desired in the bodies they are in now. I wanted to use my work to be a counter to the images that we are fed that make us feel inadequate.
What did you like best about being in the industry? I love that I get to live out many of my fantasies with an audience watching. I also love that I represent a curvier body and have been able to reach a large audience with my message through being in the industry.
How important is music in your life? Music plays a huge role in my life. For me, its a way to experience and express all the things that words cannot. I love singing in my car when I am alone stuck in LA traffic.
What kind of music turns you on and what kind of music do you listen to throughout the day? I am drawn to moody music with a great beat. I find that this music is what turns me on the most, especially when I want to feel sexy. I will play certain music, depending on my mood and what I am doing. I have found that I am most drawn to music that has a female singing the main vocals.
Do you have any favorite hip hop artists? Kool Keith, A Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu.
We know you have a show “The Voluptuous Life” on VividRadio.com . What can our readers expect when they tune in to the show? Obviously, I discuss sex! I like to draw from my real life experiences and its always sexy and fun. I often have guests on and its a good way to find out about your favorite performer. I take calls so listeners can also ask my guests questions and I pretty much do anything they want. I have also been doing shows that are informative. I encourage everyone to tune in and join the discussion, providing you like to talk about sex!
Are you making any New Year’s resolutions that you can share with us? My New Year’s resolutions include not using my GPS (or more realistically – using it less) and doing more anal!
