17-year-old hit with hate crime for fatal stabbing of O’Shae Sibley
Justice is being served for 28-year-old gay dancer O’Shae Sibley, who was fatally stabbed at a gas station in Brooklyn, on July 29. At the time, he was playing Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” album with a group of friends. However, a group of teenagers nearby had an issue with this, and demanded that Sibley stop.
However, an altercation at the gas station got physical, which resulted in Sibley being stabbed. Footage also revealed that these men demanded that he stop dancing and playing the music, all while shouting homophobic and racist comments.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old who fatally stabbed Sibley is facing hate crime charges. According to TMZ, these are for murder, as well as criminal possession of a weapon.
This suspect turned himself in on August 3, in Brooklyn, as a lawyer was also with him. He will be charged as an adult, and is currently the only suspect bein
In the aftermath of Sibley’s passing, supporters went to that gas station to pay tribute to him. Beyoncé even went on to honor him on her website, as it read “Rest In Power O’Shae Sibley.”
