2 Chainz talks Ludacris, “swag rap,” and more with Hot 97 [VIDEO]

Following up last summer’s Based on a T.R.U. Story, 2 Chainz is set to return with his sophomore album, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time. This new album is to be released on September 10 and there is a lot of momentum behind 2 Chainz. He teamed up with the resurgent Pharrell for the first single, “Feds Watching.”

The single obviously was a breakout success and has crossover appeal. Admittedly, the music 2 Chainz makes isn’t for everyone, but he knows how to make a hit record. All that matters, honestly, is the appeal and the good music and 2 Chainz brings both and consistently.

A lot of people have forgotten 2 Chainz spent the bulk of his career buried on Ludacris’ roster at DTP Records. 2 Chainz has referenced it from time-to-time and mentions talks he still has with Ludacris.
