Not many rappers get to enjoy success the way 2 Chainz has. When Ludacris first entered the game, 2 Chainz, then known as Tity Boi, was right by his side. Tity Boi was featured prominently on Ludacris’ early albums. But, when Ludacris began to slowly back away from the rap game, Tity Boi and company were also out of the public eye. In 2007, Tity Boi returned in a major way when the Playaz Circle finally decided to release their debut album.

Propelled by the Lil Wayne-assisted “Duffle Bag Boy” single, the album did well and Tity Boi enjoyed his fifteen minutes of fame. But, once the song faded away, Playaz Circle did as well. If not for his name, Tity Boi, he would have also been forgotten. In 2011, Tity Boi began recording several mixtapes and releasing new music videos. The buzz helped him return to the spotlight and then he surprisingly changed his name to 2 Chainz.

As 2 Chainz, he is back in the spotlight, signing a distribution deal with Def Jam and preparing to release his solo debut album, T.R.U. 2 My REALIGION. The former DTP rapper discussed this, and more, during his interview with AllHipHop.com earlier today.
