Love him or hate him, Tyler, the Creator holds his tongue for no one, which has gotten him caught up in numerous arguments. While he has been releasing music on the internet for years, Tyler, the Creator did not gain fame until the 2011 release of “Yonkers.” Since that period of time, Tyler, the Creator has risen to become one of the biggest names in the game.

Tyler, the Creator was one of many artists to achieve breakout success in 2011, another rapper to have a breakout year was 2 Chainz. While 2 Chainz is a “new” artist, he is a twelve year veteran in the game. As a member of Playaz Circle, 2 Chainz has been signed to Ludacris’ DTP Records since 2000, releasing his “Duffle Bag Boy” single in 2007.

2 Chainz went solo in 2011 and closed the year with his own deal with Def Jam. Building a bigger name for himself, 2 Chainz has worked with many big names. A great opportunity for 2 Chainz came when he was invited to record on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, the biggest album of spring 2012. 2 Chainz appeared on the single, “Beez in The Trap,” which was the subject of a radio/Twitter beef between Funkmaster Flex and DJ Clue.

Twitter would be an outlet for more frenzy regarding “Beez in The Trap” when Tyler, the Creator heard the song. Voicing his opinion, the Odd Future frontman said he felt the song would be much better without 2 Chainz contribution. Upon reading the tweet, 2 Chainz shared it and replied to Tyler. 2 Chainz suggested Tyler replace his verse, so he can ride the bike, evidenced in his “She” music video, in the video for “Beez in The Trap.”

In the time since then, there has been a lot of speculation regarding 2 Chainz and Tyler, the Creator. When he spoke with Angie Martinez, during his interview with Hot 97, 2 Chainz defended his reply, playing off any rumors of a beef between the two.

Read 2 Chainz’ statement regarding Tyler, the Creator below:

“The Tyler, the Creator dude… He has an opinion. He doesn’t like the verse. I didn’t say nothing. I retweeted his verse and I told him maybe [Nicki] should have asked him to do it so he could of rode his bike in the video. People are gonna say slick stuff on Twitter, but I can’t trip. It’s Twitter.”
