2 Chainz reopened his Escobar Restaurant and Tapas locations in his hometown of Atlanta last month after being shut down for dine-in service because of the coronavirus pandemic. They’ve since been back on and people are back to having a good times. They even gave food to the homeless prior to reopening their dine-in area. They’re about to be in some serious legal issues with Pablo Escobar’s family though.
According to TMZ, Escobar’s family’s company, Escobar Inc, is suing the restaurants for at least $10 million. Court documents state that the restaurants “violate federal law with unauthorized commercial use of the Escobar name and likeness.”
Escobar Inc is also not happy that their name is used on the restaurants, social media handles, clothing, and websites. They believe Pablo’s likeness is being used as there is also an item on their menu called the Escobar Crab Cakes. There’s also a painting of Pablo inside the dine-in areas.
2 Chainz hasn’t commented on this legal situation yet. It’ll be interesting to see if these two restaurants do get shut down by Escobar. He’s a very powerful man so this could be a strong possibility.
