2022 Day N Vegas festival was reportedly canceled due to low ticket sales, and not “logistics, timing, and production issues”

Day N Vegas festival was reportedly canceled over low ticket sales

The Day N Vegas festival was set to make its first return to Las Vegas since 2019, this fall. They initially planned for September 2-4 dates, as opposed to taking place in November, like before. Scheduled Day N Vegas headliners for 2022 were going to be SZA, J. Cole, and Travis Scott. Other names included Summer Walker, H.E.R., 21 Savage, Pusha T, and more.

Day N Vegas ended up suddenly canceling the festival, last week. They cited the reasons as “logistics, timing and production issues.” Refunds immediately began to be processed for fans who purchased tickets.

According to sources close to Billboard though, those weren’t exactly the reasons for the Day N Vegas cancelation. This reportedly happened due to low ticket sales, for the festival. Organizer Goldenvoice saw an issue after the first-day sales goal didn’t meet expectations. The targeted sales didn’t get better in the following days, either.

“There are a lot of festivals out there right now, and it seems like only those first festivals to go on sale for their sound or genre are the ones that sell out, but everything else that follows has struggled,” said a source to Billboard. “It seems like the consumer spent most of the festival money for the year, and unless it’s already on sale, there’s not much money left for anything else.”
