The world came to know 21 Savage, in 2015, when he took over the mixtape scene, in Atlanta. But, it wasn’t until 2017 that 21 Savage really took over the game. These two years, since then, have seen him establish himself as one of the game’s biggest artists.
21 Savage took over the headlines, last weekend, when his arrest was revealed. A rapper being arrested isn’t usually headline news, but 21’s arrest by ICE was. It turned out, he was a UK native, and in the US illegally.
Of course, as more details surfaced, it’s becoming evident 21 Savage is from the islands, and did grow up in Atlanta. However, that didn’t stop the UK from embracing him. According to reports, 21 Savage’s UK streams increased by 127% within the first 24 hours of his arrest.
