42 Dugg didn’t turn himself into feds as he though case was pending

Three days ago, 42 Dugg was arrested, after landing in his hometown of Detroit. He had just came in from Memphis, as federal agents took him into custody. This was due to Dugg not turning himself in, for violating his probation, in his 2019 federal gun case. This dates back to 2019, when Dugg visiting a gun range, and fired a Glock. That was a violation of a previous felony that he was convicted of.

Dugg was supposed to report to a West Virginia prison, and serve six months. Due to him not turning himself in, he may have a longer sentence. He violated the probation in this case, which is why the six months was announced. Last week, authorities also labeled that Dugg was a flight risk. His phone was soon tracked, and ended up being arrested at Detroit’s airport, around 5AM.

More details have now surfaced, about the arrest. According to The Detroit News, Assistant U.S. Attorney Barbara Lanning said that Dugg had $25,000 in cash on him, as well as $100,000 in jewelry. The private jet that the Detroit rapper was on, was also in question. This aircraft reportedly didn’t have an assigned flight number, and Dugg’s government name wasn’t on the flight’s passenger manifest.

“He’s claimed more than $11 million worth of assets. He has access to a private plane with a pilot willing to fly an unnumbered flight where Mr. Hayes is not included on the flight’s manifest,” Lanning explained. That’s not an accident. That’s not a happenstance.”

Dugg’s attorney, Steve Scharg, also explained why his client initially didn’t turn himself in. At the time, he was appealing his sentencing. Therefore, he had the believe that he didn’t need to turn himself in, while the case is still pending. Scharg also added that Dugg wasn’t intentionally fleeing the sentencing.
