50 Cent addresses Tony Yayo’s comments saying he hasn’t spoken with him recently and what he does doesn’t affect him

50 Cent 24Ten years ago, G-Unit Records was on top of the game and 50 Cent made stars out of the entire camp. 50 Cent aided Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Game, and Tony Yayo in becoming major stars. The situation with G-Unit has led to a lot of artists leaving the label and feuding with 50 Cent.

Recently, Tony Yayo made several tweets saying he was done with G-Unit Records and also the rap game. The Queens rapper has only released one album to date and he has dropped several mixtapes. It’s been nine years since his album dropped and he has not worked on much since then.

Billboard recently caught up with 50 Cent at SXSW 2014 in Austin. While there, they asked him about the comments Tony Yayo made. After being there and helping them to reach their goals, 50 Cent has had his fill with what they do and what they want and he explained this to Billboard in the interview.

Read an excerpt of the interview below:

“I had a wonderful journey with the people I grew up with, I think the frustration comes from shock, probably, that it’s not everything they wanted it to be. [Tony Yayo] of all people… It’s not a secret, it’s a known fact that he actually came home form jail with a million dollars and a Bentley. Like, ‘What do you want?’

These guys are millionaires. They’ve made millions of dollars. Why do that then? Whenever there’s no one to blame, you know what game you play, [for] a look. I don’t know what the goal was.

I don’t believe in looking back. I can care less about things that’s happened in the past. I’m looking forward, at prosperity…I’ve learned: The same person that tells you you’re a piece of shit tells you they love you when the right song comes out. ‘My man, 50 back.’ So you can’t be affected by ‘I hate you’ because it won’t allow for something good to come in.”
