A love/hate relationship has always existed between 50 Cent and Jay Z, mostly hate. Early in his career, 50 Cent began dissing Jay Z, who in turn dissed him during Summer Jam in 1999. This actually helped 50 Cent build an even bigger audience, leading to his future success.
When 50 Cent entered the game, he joined Jay Z and Roc-A-Fella Records on the Roc The Mic tour. The two co-headlined the tour, meanwhile 50 was digging the grave for Ja Rule, a close Jay Z affiliate. In the end, it was clear there was no love lost between 50 Cent and Jay Z, however.
50 Cent has continued to take shots at Jay Z over the years. Despite how hard he tries to get under Jay Z’s skin, 50 Cent has not had a response from him since 1999. The latest shot came after the Met Gala Ball, when 50 Cent decided to poke fun at Jay Z and Beyonce’s outfit, comparing them to a scene from Eddie Murphy in Coming To America.
