These days, 50 Cent is more easily founded on Forbes or Bloomberg, instead of the typical hip hop magazines. Growing up in Queens, New York and looking up to drug lords, this is what many dream of, but few accomplish. Instead of G-Unit, the company is now SMS, which produces everything from headphones to boxing events.

50 Cent diversified his business interests through the advice from Chris Lighty, the famed mogul who died last summer. In the time since then, 50 Cent has struggled with grief, but soared in business. Suddenly, 50 Cent finds himself wealthier than the bosses who helped him enter the game, Eminem and Dr. Dre.

Recently, The Wall Street Journal talked to 50 Cent about his SMS company, Eminem’s career outside of music, Floyd Mayweather, Jr., his time on Columbia Records, Oprah, Jay-Z, and more. 50 Cent claimed Jay-Z owes him big time during the interview. During the interview, 50 Cent also talked about his G-Unit brand.
