The last real year where a lot of breakout artists made their name was back in 2016. This was when A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, among many others, broke through. Since then, A Boogie has been credited for being the first in this wave of new New York artists.
When people think of the new era of NY rap, Cardi B and 6ix9ine lead the list, still. Even A Boogie admitted this, telling DJ Akademiks as much in an interview. That doesn’t mean he is anywhere close to slowing up.
A Boogie stopped by “The Breakfast Club,” yesterday, where he spoke with DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God. During the interview, he spoke on being a father, as he is often showing his daughter off on his IG. With that, he distanced himself from the hood, a bit, now being a role model for the youth.
