Aaliyah Fans on Twitter, Pay Homage to The Late R&B Legend, on The 20th Anniversary of Her Death
Today, August 25, officially marks 20 years since the world has lost Aaliyah. At the time, she was only 22-years-old, and already one of the biggest stars in the world. At the time of her passing, she and seven other passengers were killed in a plane crash, after taking off in the Marsh Harbour area of the Bahamas. Aaliyah had been filming the rest of her “Rock The Boat” music video.
Last week, Aaliyah’s albums finally began to be available on streaming outlets, with the first one being her 1996 sophomore album, “One In A Million.” This project is set to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart for the first time ever.
On this day, fans honor Aaliyah’s life, and the impact that she made in her 22 years of life. In addition to her epic music career, she had also been making a name for herself in the TV/film industry. She had already starred in projects such as “Romeo Must Die” and “Queen Of The Damned.”
The next Aaliyah project that is scheduled to hit streaming outlets is the Romeo Must Die movie soundtrack, on September 3. The self-titled debut album is set for September 10, and the compilation albums “I Care 4 U” and “Ultimate Aaliyah,” will be out on October 8.
