The New York hip hop scene has been the topic of discussion on hip hop sites over the first two months of 2012. After years of struggling, New York has been very resurgent and A$AP Rocky is one reason why. Dominating the mixtape scene, representing Harlem, A$AP Rocky is currently working on his debut album.

A$AP Rocky has been one of the standouts, so far, of 2012. Despite his extreme popularity and buzz, he was still left out of XXL‘s Freshmen 2012 cover. There were many rappers left out. French Montana, who was included on the cover, felt he should have been featured on the 2010 edition.

Currently A$AP Rocky is at SXSW and Fuse TV caught up with him. Sitting down with Fuse, A$AP Rocky discussed his debut album and being left out of XXL’s Freshmen 2012 cover.
