The A$AP movement has become one of the most-popular new talents of 2012 with Harlem emcee, A$AP Rocky leading the pack. Named after Rakim, it seemed as if it was destined for A$AP Rocky to eventually begin a career as an emcee. In years past, New York rappers with an appeal to the Southern audience were panned, but A$AP Rocky has changed this stigma, turning it into a positive.

With all of the positive going on with A$AP Rocky and his A$AP Mob, there has been some negatives, as well. The South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas (SXSW) was one of the biggest hip hop events of the year. Among the performers at SXSW was A$AP Rocky, as he stole the show. Several hip hop media outlets attended the festival and A$AP Rocky was in high demand.

A$AP Rocky also got into an altercation at SXSW, which has been highly publicized. It was not until the release of hit Hit-Boy-produced single, “Goldie,” did discussion about his fight finally end. Fuse recently caught up with A$AP Rocky following his performance at Coachella 2012. No matter how well A$AP Rocky performs, he has no chance of stealing the show from Tupac Shakur, who returned to perform another set at Coachella 2012. Still, Fuse spoke with A$AP Rocky, asking him about his altercation at SXSW and his new single, “Goldie.”
