Top Dawg Entertainment has remained firmly in the mainstream spotlight of the rap game for two years now. Kendrick Lamar released Section.80 during the summer of 2011 and his profile consistently rose. Now, Kendrick Lamar is considered by most as one of the biggest rappers in the game.

If anything, Kendrick Lamar’s popularity has helped the world get to know the other people he runs with. Ab-Soul is one of Kendrick Lamar’s trusted friends, but he is upset with how the media portrays their relationship. There is no one leader of their movement, they all just are dope rappers who are out to be the best.

Kendrick Lamar definitely shut things down at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards with his cypher verse. Most can’t decide if he was going after Papoose or Drake. In his interview with HotNewHipHop, Ab-Soul discussed both that and Mac Miller being the new Ice Cube.
