Miami rapper, Ace Hood, has gone through a transition period in 2012. While he still remains an integral part of DJ Khaled’s We the Best Music Group, Ace Hood is no longer a part of Def Jam. DJ Khaled signed with Cash Money Records in 2010 with intentions of moving his Def Jam vanity label over, also.

After seemingly disappearing from the spotlight, Ace Hood turned in a strong comeback performance in 2011. While Ace Hood delivered an anthem with both the original “Hustle Hard” and the remix with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne, other 2011 comebacks overshadowed. Particularly, Young Jeezy overshadowed Ace Hood.

Instead of returning with a new album, Ace Hood instead took time off and he began focusing on mixtapes. Ace Hood announced Starvation in 2011, right after he released The Statement 2. Mixtapes from Ace Hood also included Body Bag, Vol. 2 and he released the official trailer for Starvation 2 earlier today.
