On January 21, Adele was supposed to give off her Las Vegas residency concerts. These were supposed take place every weekend, through April 16. Tickets initially went on sale in December, and prices soon skyrocketed. This was due to tickets hitting resale markets.
Now, Adele isn’t starting her Vegas concerts on time. This is due to her taking to social media on Thursday, to reveal that members of her crew and team have been testing positive for COVID-19. The singer also tearfully explained that they are trying to reschedule new dates. These shows were originally set to take place at Caesars Palace.
“I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready. We’ve tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid. Half my crew and team are [ill] with Covid and still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show. Im gutted — I’m sorry it’s so last minute, we’ve been awake for over 30 hours trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time. I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and so sorry to everyone that traveled to get [to the show]. I’m really, really sorry.”
This postponement also comes after Adele’s new “30” album topped the Billboard 200 chart, heading into 2022. This was her first album released since 2015, and her fourth consecutive number one album. Every album in her career has reached this mark. Adele’s “Easy On Me” single also debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as that was her first single since 2015, as well.
