Al B Sure said he hoped Diddy’s griminess would go away with age
Al B. Sure! shares a complicated history with Diddy, that goes back decades. The two met via the record label, Uptown Records. Back then, Al B. Sure! was one of the flagship artists. Meanwhile, Diddy was an executive for the label. Meanwhile, Kim Porter was an intern for the label. Porter gave birth to Quincy, who is Al B.’s biological son. However, Diddy has been his adopted father for most of his life. Diddy’s name made headlines, last week, due to Cassie suing him. As a result, Al B. Sure! spoke out.
Al B. Sure! made his debut in the late 1980s, on Uptown Records. During that span of time, Al B. was one of the biggest names in R&B. As a result, he had many hits under his belt. One of the signature songs from Al B. Sure! is “Forever My Lady.” That song was dedicated to Kim Porter, who was pregnant with their son, Quincy. Years later, Quincy made a remake to one of Al B. Sure!’s other hits, “Nite N Day,” which dropped when he was doing “STAR.”
Al B. Sure! simply being involved with the same woman as Diddy makes their relationship different from most. However, with both of them raising Quincy, one would hope they built a friendship. When Cassie sued Diddy for sexual assault, many people spoke out against him. While Al B. Sure didn’t mention names, he also vented on social media. He said he hoped “your grimy ways would dissipate with age,” leading most to believe Diddy was who he was talking about.
