Album Review: Yella Beezy Continues To Put Dallas On His Back To Close Out A Strong 2018 With “Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc” Project

Dallas artist Yella Beezy started to gain buzz in 2017 with his “Broke Nights Rich Days” project along with “Lite Work, Vol 2” which included the breakout single “That’s On Me.” That momentum carried into 2018. In October, Beezy was shot three times near the Dallas area but made a very quick recovery.

Beezy rebounded quickly with the release of his new album “Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc” on November 16. He held his own as he put out a hot project on a day of competitive album releases which included City Girls’ debut album “Girl Code” and Anderson .Paak’s “Oxnard” project. Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc contains 20 tracks with features from Kevin Gates, Lil Baby, T.I., 2 Chainz, Tokyo Jetz, Jeezy, Rich The Kid, Boosie Badazz, Snook Monstro, and Trapboy Freddie.

Yella Beezy sends a warning to his enemies on the opening track “Keep It On Me.” He’s always strapped and is ready for whoever is after him. It’s a hard record that brings the energy and sets the tone throughout the project.

My Way Up” is one of my top five favorite records on Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc and definitely serves as that motivational record. It makes you wanna go harder and keep getting money on lines such as “Remember nights a n*gga slept through the cold?
Momma cryin’, face wet, clothes soaked? Not no more, nigga walk with my head up and chest out. I used to be stressed out, but n*gga I’m blessed now.”

On “Why They Mad,” Beezy could’ve went a bit harder with the hook but overall, it brings that swagger and motivates the people to keep doing what they do best despite doubters.

What I Did” had contained Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc’s first feature of the album with Kevin Gates and functions as a solid get money record. Beezy vouches for his accomplishments on the hook which include getting his mom and girl new houses.

Conceited” served as the first track on the album dedicated to the ladies. Beezy’s preferences are the baddest women in the room no matter how they act. This song should definitely pop off in strip clubs in the south.

Aside from That’s On Me, Beezy received praise for his “Up One” single and he put out a remix featuring Lil Baby on Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc. Beezy and Baby’s chemistry was on point as both are confident in the way they keep getting money and the women they constantly get.

Nobody” is a song on this project that you need to put on repeat. A lot of fellas can relate to it when dealing with women as a lot of business simply needs to be kept on the low. The hook was catchy with lines such as “When I hit this lick, ho don’t say s*it
Don’t tell nobody. Say if you my b*tch, then seal your lip. Don’t tell nobody. Had to stack my chips ’til I got rich. Don’t tell nobody. This is one of the songs that deserves a lot of attention but will somehow become very underrated.

So Much Gucci” makes you wanna drip even harder when it comes to getting fresh. Beezy feels that he’s always on point and Gucci even needs to sponsor him for his outfits. This song will definitely make you feel yourself before hitting up the club.

You On You” is relatable to everybody. A lot of people will show flaw actions so bringing the same energy will have them shocked. While sending this message, Beezy still brings the juice on this record and is confident in him getting to the top on lines such as “I’m the hottest topic. Yeah, n*gga this my year.”

Beezy is fed up with anybody trying to plot on him on “Slide” and that he’s ready for wherever they wanna take it to. He says on the hook that he’s not letting anything slide anymore and he’s been about that action. He brought the most energy on the second verse which concludes the song.

Beezy linked up with super producer Zaytoven on “Come Around” and enlisted Snook Monstro as a feature. This track came with a solid and catchy hood and Monstro went in on his verse. Fans should be on the look out for him as he features an aggressive Busta Rhymes-type of flow.

Safe To Say” is another top five record on Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc and is the best club banger on this project. Beezy brought on YG for the feature and both showed solid chemistry as this has the potential to move up on different charts.

What You Want” is my personal favorite on Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc. Beezy brought on Tokyo Jetz on this track and she’s my favorite female rapper in the game right now. The plot was perfect on this record as Beezy wants women that are on their boss status and tries to forget about his old exes. He makes it known that he hasn’t messed with any of his throwbacks in a good minute but Tokyo refutes that claim. They both went in on their back and forth verses and provided a relatable banger.

Big Drip” will definitely make you feel yourself when you step out. It makes you wanna get some money and go after any woman you want. This will definitely be on repeat in Beezy’s hometown of Dallas and spread all around the south.

Big Ole Facts” has been on repeat for me as well. Beezy keeps it real about his success as he keeps on winning and despite his status, no one wants the smoke with him. He also pumps his chest against haters who doubted him but now sees him on top.

Beezy brought that swag again on “Kick Lots Of Flava.” It reverts back to the same energy brought on “Big Drip” as it’ll definitely bring that confidence out of you.

That’s On Me” has been buzzing in the streets for a while now but the guest features on its remix are crazy. Beezy had released the remix prior to the album dropping as it brought on T.I., Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Rich The Kid, Boosie Badazz, and Trapboy Freddie. Beezy’s momentum with this hit won’t slow down anytime soon as this is definitely one of the best remixes of 2018.

Beezy brought out another hot and relatable record with “It Ain’t My Fault.” He celebrates his success while addressing haters who are salty at his wins and aren’t trying to get on their grind themselves.

On “Play Yo Part,” Beezy stresses to the woman that he wants that if she simply plays her part, everything will be all good. He doesn’t want outside voices to affect their relationship/situationship and instead, put all that energy on him.

Yella Beezy closes out Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc on a good note with “Can’t Stop At All.” He emphasizes that he’s still in grind mode and has to look out for his family. He continues to stay out of the way of snakes who want to be around him simply to ride his wave of success.

It’s been a while since Texas has been able to consistently breed stars so it’s good to see Yella Beezy join that group with this Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc project. His home state has definitely impressed in 2018 with projects from himself, Bun B, Travis Scott and Asian Doll. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a sequel for Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc in 2019.
