Alley Boy denies going after T.I. and Young Jeezy in “I Want In” [VIDEO]

One of the biggest hip hop stories in the early-going of 2012 has been the war of words between veteran rapper, Common, and relative newcomer, Drake, of Young Money. The beef was “officially on” to many when Drake called Common out on Rick Ross’ “Stay Schemin.'” In his subliminal diss, Drake brings up several strong points about how the nature of rap beef has changed.

A decade ago, when a rapper mentioned another rapper, whether it be by name or subliminally, the beef was on. When rappers exchanged disses back then, there was no denying what was said and there were no reconciliations. However, in recent years, the nature of the rap beef has changed. Newer rappers have learned dissing established artists is a good way to gain their attention and gain exposure to their fan base. The tactic was mastered by 50 Cent and is used by both new and established artists.

This tactic worked well, recently, for Atlanta newcomer, Alley Boy. For months, Alley Boy has been working on his Nigganati project, which was released this past week. When Alley Boy began working on his project, the Atlanta hip hop scene was struggling, a bit. T.I. had risen to become the top artist in the area, years before, but he was in prison. Aside from T.I., Young Jeezy was another well-known hitmaker representing Atlanta, but he was on hiatus. Following the emergence of Future, who became Atlanta’s biggest artist in early 2011 through his “Tony Montana” hit, Alley Boy had a chance to also emerge.

However, T.I. and Young Jeezy soon returned, following T.I.’s prison release and Young Jeezy finally landed a release date. When the two rappers returned, their impact on the game was heavy. While T.I. did not release an album, he had enough singles and features to complete several albums. Meanwhile, Young Jeezy’s long-awaited Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition was released to rave reviews and was filled with several hit singles. Before the release of Nigganati, Alley Boy leaked a track called “I Want In.” On the track, Alley Boy seemingly takes aim at T.I. and Young Jeezy.

Following nearly a day of headlines about Alley Boy dissing T.I. and Young Jeezy, the Atlanta rapper broke his silence on the song. During his interview with AllHipHop.com, Alley Boy set the record straight. First, he acknowledged the rumors about him taking shots at the veteran rappers. However, Alley Boy said if he actually decided to take shots, his opposition would be bleeding. Alley Boy went on to say people need to respect what he says and how he feels. On “I Want In,” Alley Boy expressed how he felt with what he said. While Alley Boy said he was not taking shots at anyone, he also said if anyone feels offended, the record must be about them.
