Recently, a video from May, during the height of the George Floyd protests, have resurfaced, on Facebook. Just as they originally were, many people not a part of the culture, seem offended by this. The man being killed by the police, to them, wasn’t as offensive as the protesting.

It’s unfortunate that these people do not understand why the protesting became as strong as it did. The police have claimed many innocent lives, but predominantly those of color. These are facts that some ignore and then bring their “alternative facts” into question.

Amy Roth is an educator, for Jefferson County Public Schools, in the state of Kentucky. She works as a special education teacher and a volleyball coach. When the video of the black protesters blocking traffic hit her timeline, Roth commented “Full speed ahead. Don’t worry they’ll blend in with the pavement,” but tried to apologize, once confronted, and called out for her racist comment.
