Few NBA players were miscast as badly as Andre Iguodala, until later in his career. Drafted in 2004, he was a part of the Philadelphia 76ers rebuilding effort, learning the game from Allen Iverson. Despite a strong start, in 2006-2007, Iverson was traded, at the start of the season.
Suddenly, Andre Iguodala was the franchise player and, to his credit, the Sixers were a playoff caliber team, late that season. The next two seasons, Andre led them to the playoffs. After missing 2010, he led them back in 2011 and had a strong 2012 playoff run.
Following Allen Iverson’s trend, Andre Iguodala was traded to Denver, were he played one season before Golden State acquired him. Losing to the Warriors, in the 2013 playoffs, Andre Iguodala was their Finals MVP, just two years later. He was an integral part of all of their NBA Finals runs, up until their 2019 loss to Toronto.
Andre Iguodala would go on “The Breakfast Club,” after Kawhi Leonard’s former squad had their parade, and he discussed some Warriors business. The next day, Iguodala was traded to the Memphis Grizzles, a team expected to be among the league’s worst teams, this season. Before this, he wrote his book, and now Iguodala is back speaking to the media, visiting Hot 97 to speak on the Warriors, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant, the China deal, and more.
