Angel Reese has gotten so much backlash over a simple gesture. The people giving her a hard time are overlooking that trash talk is the nature of sports. Furthermore, Angel Reese just led LSU to its first national championship ever. If anyone had the right to talk trash, Angel Reese had that right. Something as simple as a gesture has people from all over the sports world attacking her. However, “NBA Today” provided her a safe space. In turn, Angel Reese explained things to Malika Andrews.

Angel Reese managed to fly under the radar throughout March Madness. Increasingly, Caitlin Clark began receiving a lot of attention. When she led Iowa to the Final Four, Caitlin Clark began receiving tons of national media coverage. As she led Iowa to the championship game, Clark made a gesture towards the opposing team. The hand waving was celebrated by the media, as Iowa was headed to the NCAA championship.

Angel Reese made a gesture of her own during the NCAA championship game. Her gesture was no different from Steph Curry’s during Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals. After doing the hand waving gesture, Angel Reese pointed at her ring finger. In turn, the people in the media vilified her.
