In fact, the Academy even had Regina King present her with the award. After accepting it, Bassett and King wound up kissing on the lips. As a result, social media is up in arms.

Angela Bassett rose to fame during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Like most people trying to gain footing, in the acting world, Bassett took on roles on various platforms. These roles included being on sitcoms, such as “227.” That particular show is where Regina King first gained fame. However, both ladies ended up really making their name on Boyz N The Hood. Not only is that film a classic, but also, it launched the film career of Ice Cube.

Angela Bassett was overcome with emotion, when she won her first Academy Award. In the eyes of most, the award was long overdue. Many people loved the Academy for having Regina King present her with the award.
