In the case of Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans, a series of unfortunate events have led to this. Initially, Davis was initially believed to be going to Charlotte, as they had the all-time worst record. But, somehow, New Orleans managed to win the top pick.
Ironically, Charlotte has almost instantly become a good team since the time Anthony Davis was drafted. But, New Orleans has done all of the right things to be a contender. A series of bad events have prevented this from happening.
Injuries and Jrue Holiday taking the season off have left Anthony Davis all by himself. While he is a superstar, dropping 50 and 45 points, respectively, already, this season, his team is winless at 0-4. This has caused Davis to demand the Pelicans do something to turn things around, or 2020 can’t get here fast enough.
