Anthony Davis injures ankle against Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Davis has struggled with injuries his entire career. Through most of this season, AD has struggled with injuries to his ankle. As a result, he has missed a good portion of the season. In turn, the Lakers are battling for a play-in spot, as opposed to contending for a championship. However, the Lakers have been playing like champions, as of late. Tonight, the Lakers are playing the Minnesota Timberwolves. During the game, AD went down with his ankle, once again.

Anthony Davis arrived to the Los Angeles Lakers through a trade. Davis spent the first seven years of his career with the New Orleans Pelicans. During that time, the Pelicans failed to put a good team around AD. So when LeBron James joined the Lakers, Anthony Davis soon requested a trade to join him. As a result, the 2019 offseason saw the Lakers trade Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, among others, to New Orleans for him. It’s starting to look like New Orleans won this trade.

Anthony Davis helped lead the Lakers to the 2020 championship. The following season, the Lakers fell from contention, due to Davis’ injuries. In 2021, the Lakers retooled during the offseason in hopes of returning to title contention. Instead, they went 35-47. Despite the 2-10 start, the Lakers have been better this year. At 38-38, the Lakers are playing a must win game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, a major curve ball was thrown, as AD hurt his ankle during the game.
