Anthony Edwards accuses refs of cheating after win vs OKC
Anthony Edwards is fast becoming the best player in the NBA. Also, the Minnesota Timberwolves are becoming contenders in the league. However, the past couple of games have seen the Wolves give the wins away. First, there was the Karl-Anthony Towns 62 point home game spoiled by the Hornets. After that, they had the loss to the Spurs. Now, the Wolves are back on track, beating the Thunder. Despite the win, Edwards blames the referees for cheating.
Anthony Edwards was the number one overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft. However, his rookie year was uneventful for the Wolves. A year later, Edwards helped lead Minnesota through the play-in tournament and into the playoffs. There, they came close to upsetting the Memphis Grizzlies. Last year, after another play-in win, they faced the eventual champion Denver Nuggets in the first round. Now, the Wolves are the top team in the West, like Denver was last year.
Anthony Edwards definitely is playing like the NBA’s best player. Last night, the Timberwolves got back to playing like the NBA’s best team. They did so by defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in OKC’s home area. During the Wolves’ struggling period, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s team took over the number one record in the West. Last night, Minnesota reclaimed this. After that, Ant was talking his stuff, repeatedly saying the referees were cheating in favor of the Thunder.
