Antonio Brown’s arrest warrant gets withdrawn, and won’t face battery charges, after allegedly throwing shoe at woman in his Tampa home; Victim recanted her story

Antonio Brown’s warrant for battery gets withdrawn

Former NFL star-turned-rapper Antonio Brown continued his trend of legal issues, earlier this month, as a warrant was filed for his arrest. This stemmed from an alleged battery incident, involving one of his alleged baby mamas.

This incident was said to have initially occurred on November 28, at his Tampa home. Brown allegedly got into an argument with this woman, and threw a shoe at her.  There was also a rumor that Brown was in a standoff with police, and would come out of his home.

However, AB is receiving some good news now. According to TMZ, he the warrant that he was facing for battery charges has now been withdrawn. Brown was initially facing a felony. This withdrawal is due to the alleged victim recanting her story during an interview on December 16, per the State Attorney’s Office.  Therefore, prosecutors “determined we could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt a battery took place.”

“As a result, a letter of release was issued, which formalizes the SAO’s decision not to prosecute and withdraws the previously issued arrest warrant.”

This year, Brown left the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, after refusing to play in the middle of the final game of last season, vs the New York Jets. He claimed he was forced to play on a bad ankle. Over a month later, Brown began hanging out with Kanye West, and became president of Donda Sports.
