Afro Nation’s second annual festival wrapped up in Detroit this past Sunday, delivering a weekend of electrifying performances and unforgettable moments. The festival, known for celebrating Afrobeats and global music, saw an impressive lineup of artists take the stage, making it one of the most anticipated events of the summer.
Saturday’s festivities set the tone with high-energy performances from international stars like Rema, Kizz Daniel, Ayra Starr, Kash Doll, and Uncle Waffles. The vibrant atmosphere continued into Sunday, with fans treated to stellar sets from Asake, Shenseea, PartyNextDoor, and Ruger, among others. The festival showcased the best of Afrobeats and beyond, drawing music lovers from near and far.
This year’s event was particularly noteworthy given the recent musical releases from the headlining acts. Asake’s latest album, Lungu Boy, which dropped this month, features 15 tracks and collaborations with heavyweights like Wizkid, Travis Scott, and Central Cee. PartyNextDoor also made waves with the release of his highly anticipated fourth installment in the PartyNextDoor series, adding fresh tracks to his long-standing discography. Meanwhile, Shenseea’s sophomore album, Never Gets Late Here, which arrived in late May, includes 14 songs and notable features from Coi Leray, Anitta, and Wizkid.
The weekend’s festivities not only highlighted the individual success of these artists but also reinforced the growing global influence of Afrobeats.
