Ashanti and Nelly went out partying and turning up to her old music
Ashanti shares a similar career trajectory to Nelly. Both of them dominated 2002, but they didn’t become a couple until they faded from the spotlight. In 2006, they met, and they became a couple during the 2007 period. During the early days of social media influencing, everything Ashanti did with Nelly trended. However, the couple had an abrupt breakup. As a result, Ashanti paid him no attention for years. Since the Ja Rule/Fat Joe Verzuz, Nelly has been spending time with Ashanti. They recently got back together, and now they are out partying together.
Ashanti made her debut at a time when R&B was going through a transition. Suddenly, Aaliyah passed away. Meanwhile, other singers were seeing their careers decline. In many ways, Ashanti filled a lot of voids. However, she could not easily be compared to any of the other female singers. In addition, she had the musical chemistry with Ja Rule. Having that machine led to Ashanti instantly taking over the charts.
Ashanti saw her career also decline, in terms of new music. However, her old music has been impactful enough to feed her for life. If there was ever any struggle, all Ashanti would ever have to do is go perform her classic hits. Recently, she and Nelly were in Houston, doing couple things. They were in the club, alongside Diddy’s artist, Jozzy. All of them were there vibing out to Ashanti’s 2002 hit, “Baby.”
