Ashanti / Keyshia Cole Verzuz battle postponed until January 9, 2021, as Verzuz indicates Ashanti has contracted the COVID-19 virus [PHOTO]

With a little over an hour before showtime, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole’s battle on Verzuz was postponed. Initial reports said that someone in the camps had COVID-19. Because it was so close to showtime, many fans were upset.

Fans are torn between who would win, between Ashanti and Keyshia Cole. Definitely, Ashanti had a run, in the early 2000s, with her own hits, and collaborations with Ja Rule. But, the later 2000s saw Keyshia Cole come with hits, primarily on her own.

Verzuz has now released an official statement on the Ashanti/Keyshia Cole battle being postponed. Citing safety first, Verzuz said the battle is rescheduled for January 9, 2021. Then, well wishes were given to Ashanti, indicating that she is the one who contracted COVID-19.
