Ashanti talks Murder Inc., relationships, new music, and more on #TheBreakfastClub [VIDEO]

Sixteen years ago, Ashanti made herself a household name. But, before people knew her, she wrote for Jennifer Lopez, on the two records she did with Ja Rule. With Ja Rule at the height of his career, he featured Ashanti on “Always on Time.”

Fat Joe, meanwhile, turned to Irv Gotti and Ja Rule for his album that dropped, the same year. His single, “What’s Luv?,” became a huge record, in part due to Ashanti. As a new artist, Ashanti was on top of the world, but then it was all over.

Ashanti stopped by “The Breakfast Club,” with Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee, while DJ Envy is still on vacation. She came in and talked about Murder Inc. and the sexual assaults. Also discussing relationships, she touched on her new music, and much more.
