Ashanti talks hug with Nelly, at #Verzuz, says she has a new man [VIDEO]

The Fat Joe/Ja Rule Verzuz battle had many big moments, it was bound to. However, there were those who joked, saying Ashanti really won the battle. But, the most-discussed moment was Nelly running over to hug her, seeing how they used to date.

In 2008, Ashanti and Nelly began dating, and the two were quite serious. After nearly seven years of dating, the couple had an abrupt split. Nelly would quickly move on with another woman and they briefly starred in a reality TV show together.

Ashanti and Nelly shared a hug, towards the end of Verzuz, which went viral. After the battle, she and Remy Ma spoke with Fat Joe and Ja Rule, on IG Live. Here, they discussed the hug, where Shani revealed she has a new boyfriend, but was glad to see Nelly, which was for the first time, since their 2015 breakup.
