Ashanti talks relationship with Ja Rule and future reunion with Complex [VIDEO]

In the early 2000s, Ja Rule had the game on lock and it seemed like his movement was complete when Ashanti was added. His hits had come alongside Jennifer Lopez, Christina Milian and Lil’ Mo, but Ashanti was an artist on Murder Inc. Once they did their first song and topped the charts, the chemistry was built.

Now, most people looking back on it will commonly associate Ashanti to Ja Rule and vice versa. No one could touch this duo when they had it, but the past ten years have been pretty hard on them. Just now, they seem to be healing from all the damage that was done.

Ashanti and Ja Rule both confirmed they would be working together, but when she dropped Braveheart, Ja was nowhere to be found. Complex caught up with Ashanti and she explained this during their interview. The reason for their separation is because they want to do solo music first, get some hits, and then officially reunite.
