Asian woman controversially recreates Kobe Bryant’s face

The world is still in mourning over Kobe Bryant, as Drake’s words are more literal than ever before. As the world mourns the loss of an icon, so much has changed in three short years. There was the global shutdown, political disasters, and a changing of the guard. In addition, the advances in technology have been downright scary. Now one includes Kobe Bryant and it’s sparking outrage. One woman used her face to create Kobe’s.

Advances in technology have led to the championing of robots. However, as they now have an official name, A.I. (Artificial Technology), the same people who helped usher it in are warning people about it. They are saying to be careful with making A.I. a part of every component of every day life. Sadly, it looks like things have gone too far to take heed to those warnings. The situation with Kobe’s face had nothing to do with A.I., however.

Given what is going on in the world, situations like these are sensitive. Yes, Kobe Bryant is missed, but he isn’t bothering anybody. That said, it calls into question why someone would want to bother him and his memory. Obviously, the woman who did this meant no harm in recreating Kobe Bryant’s face. But as an Asian woman, she had to paint her skin to match the late NBA icon’s complexion. As a result, some people are finding outrage in her actions.
