Perhaps the future of New York hip hop, Astro was one of the few rappers from the hip hop scene in New York to stand up. On Big Sean’s “Control,” Kendrick Lamar went off on the rap game and called himself the King of New York. Astro was one of the few rappers who took shots back at Kendrick Lamar for the claims.
There may be some who missed it, but Astro rose to fame when he competed for the prize on FOX’s “The X Factor.” During its inaugural season, the new Simon Cowell show almost unseated “American Idol.” While he did not win, Astro left a lasting impact on his fans.
Astro used his time in the spotlight wisely and he has continued to make his way through the game. Currently, Astro is working on his street album, Starving Like Marvin For A LL Cool J Song. The artwork for the album was released today and the release date for the project is set for September 10.
