Azealia Banks to collaborate with Missy Elliott

Not too long ago, hip hop had nearly no females in the game, with the exception of singers who performed hooks on hit records. For years, fans had been waiting on Lil’ Kim to return with her new album, which had met several delays. Nicki Minaj signed with Young Money in 2009 and proceeded to take over the rap game in 2010.

Since Nicki Minaj, several female rappers have entered the game, meeting success. Among the femcees in the game making noise is Azealia Banks. Much like Nicki Minaj, Banks is from the streets in New York City and she is close to her big break. Azealia Banks has her long-awaited 1991 EP in the works.

The mixtape was recently pushed back when Azealia Banks signed with Troy Carter for management. When Banks announced the latest delay, she said it was because of new management, which would only make the project better. Two days later, Azealia Banks announced she will be working with Missy Elliott.
